Inner Mongolia - A Northern China Ancient Nomadic Culture

China Travel Services

The Mongols are actually a heterogeneous group of different nomad people who shared the origin with the Tung Hu people, who lived in the Eerguna River valley during Tang Dynasty and later moved west to Mountain Kente and were dominated by the Kingdoms of Liao and Jin.

At the end of 12th century, the great leader of Tribe Qiyan Chinggis Qaghan united the Mongol people and established the Mongol Kingdom in 1206. Chinggis was honored Genghis Khan. Later Genghis Khan and his sons conquered the kingdoms of Western Xixia and Jin, expanded the Mongol Kingdom to Mid Asia and East Europe, establishing a Mongol Empire that extended across two continents. That was the heydays of the nomadic culture.
