LANZHOU, Oct. 11 (Xinhuanet) -- A national dinosaur geological park with China's most and intact dinosaur footprint fossils opened to the public Tuesday in northwest China's Gansu Province.

Covering an acreage of 15 square kilometers, the park is located about 60 km west to the province's capital Lanzhou.

It possesses 1,724 footprint fossils of dinosaurs and other reptiles and birds, which are divided into 150 groups and falling into ten categories, which are the largest scale preservation in China.

People can also see the fossils of invertebrates together with the geological relics like the stratum section plane of the Cretaceous period in the park.

Since archaeologists found the first dinosaur footprint here in1999, the park has currently more than 2,000 square meters of the footprints.

According to the working staff, the park is composed of a Cretaceous dinosaur museum, a dinosaur footprint exhibition area, a mock area of the ancient geology and a scientific research institution.
