Queen Elizabeth Park
Queen Elizabeth Park, on top of Little Mountain, the highest position in Vancouver (152meters), is the first urban greenhouse in Canada. This park, covering an area of 53 hectares, used to be a stone pit, has now been turned into a low-lying garden.
In summer and spring, when flowers are in full bloom, the Alps coach arbors and rosebushes in this park are green and pretty. Every year, this park receives over 6,000,000 local residents and tourists.
One of famous scenic spots in the park is the Bloodel Floral Conservatory, the only tropical flower garden in Vancouver. It is made of aluminum and glass shelves. Its round roof is 43 meters in diameter. This conservatory consists of a tropical area, a jungle, a desert area, and over 500 kinds of plants.
Apart from flowers and plants, this park features a Pitch & Putt Golf Course, a golf-training course, and 20 tennis-training courses. Visitors can have a picnic, play mini golf and have a good time with family.
The park is famous for its spectacular views. Visitors converge here to take photos. On Lions Clock at the entrance of Bloodel Floral Conservatory, one can see numerous tourists queuing up to take photos. Waterfalls and flower beds in the park are favorite backdrops for newly weds and their photographers.
This park also boasts a restaurant named "Season in the Park", where couples on dates can sample delicious food while they learn more about each other. At the same time, they can enjoy a magnificent view of Vancouver.
